How to Use Poly Trader Pro

Adding Wallets And Setting Permisssions

  • As of now (5/10/2025) the program is unregistered, and so when installing on a Mac, you’ll have to allow permission to open. (On my Mac I’ll first get some warning message, and then I’ll go to System settings, then to Privacy and security, and then I scroll down to allow the program to run.)

  • You’ll need to use a metamask wallet, and you’ll need to have usdc.e in that wallet before adding ($15 minimum). You’ll also need to have a bit of polygon / matic to pay gas fees as our program trades via the polymarket API (trading should not require gas, but some types of transactions may require gas).

  • For first-time users, I recommend not checking the “Proxy Wallet” box, and just entering your wallet address and private key from a wallet such as Metamask to keep things simple.

  • Many users are interested in trading using the UI and the API from the same account. You can do this via the following steps:
    • Log into polymarket, and export your private key via a magic link to your email. (While logged in to polymarket, click on “Settings”, and then “Export Private Key”.)
    • When setting up a wallet on PolyInsight, check the “Proxy wallet” option, and then select “Magic Link”
    • Use the polymarket public address as your “Funder wallet”. (This is the public USDC.e on polygon wallet address that you can copy from under your username after clicking the down arrow at the top right of your browser screen while logged in to polymarket).
    • Note that, currently, the option of using metamask as your proxy wallet appears to be not working (there appears to be a bug in granting trading privileges.

  • Check the proxy wallet box if you add a wallet which was set up on polymarket as a metamask proxy wallet. In this case, the “Funder wallet” will be the polymarket public address of the polymarket account you logged into using your metamask.

  • Important: The first time you trade, you should get a prompt to run a code setting allowances for the wallet. It’s a one-time thing. (If you don’t get this then let us know.) Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like.
